Over 150,000 people die each year in the UK from cardiac arrest.

Automated external defibrillators (AEDs) have become the most innovative life saving technology in many years. Defibrillating the heart is now recognised as the critical action that can restart a heart and increase a casualty's chance of survival.

ARC Training has designed this Course to enable the candidate to develop the skill to use a defibrillator within a specific protocol.

Development of technology has produced equipment which is user friendly, providing the operator with verbal prompts and minimum operator input.

The following topics will be taught:-

• Control of a scene
• Casualty assessment
• CPR integration
• AED operation
• Protocol adherence
• Putting the Protocol into practice

Eligibility:  Any candidate who has attended a First aid at work (H.S.E.) approved training course.
